The sequences can be saved to a local computer as Experiment, Genbank file, FASTA file, and HELM format.
Experiment
The entire BioDrive experiment can be exported to a single file in a proprietary file format (.bjn). The file contains the latest version of all sequences together with their annotations (features, primers, and translations).
Genbank File
To export the sequence as a Genbank file, press Action -> Export -> As a Genbank file. When “Selected sequence” is picked, only the sequence in the current tab will be exported. The default file name is the tab name. If the “All sequences” option is selected, all sequences opened in the current experiment will be exported. The default file name is the experiment number. The file name can be changed by users. If the sequence is annotated, the features, translated features, and primers will be included in the Genbank file. Both DNA and RNA sequences will be exported using basic DNA bases (A,C,G,T),
FASTA File
To export the sequence as a FASTA file, press Action -> Export -> As a FASTA file. When the “Selected sequence as DNA” option is selected, the sequence in the current tab will be exported as DNA (A,C,G,T bases). When the “Selected sequence as RNA” option is selected, the sequence in the current tab will be exported as RNA (A,C,G,U bases). If the “All sequences as DNA” option is selected, all sequences opened in the current experiment will be exported as DNA regardless of what type of sequences they are. If the “All sequences as RNA” option is selected, all sequences opened in the current experiment will be exported as RNA. Only nucleotide sequences will be saved to a FASTA file. No annotation feature will be included in the FASTA file.
HELM Format
To export the sequence in HELM format, press Action -> Export -> Sequence into HELM.
