Edit Annotation Features
print icon

The following properties of a feature can be updated: feature name, feature type, feature location (start and end position, strand), directionality, segments, feature color (select from predefined palette), and feature description.

In the feature panel, click the three vertical dots next to the feature you want to edit, then select “Edit” to open the edit window.

  1. Text in feature name, product, and description fields can be edited.
  2. Feature Key, the display color of the feature, strand, and directionality can be changed by selecting an item from the dropdown list.

Note: The features’ display color is not saved in GenBank files. If the edited sequence is exported as a GenBank file and imported back to the tool, the features will be displayed using the default color scheme.

  1. For translation features, when the start or end location is changed and the length of the new fragment is a multiple of 3, the translation needs to be recalculated by pressing the blue circle button next to the translation field.
  2. The simple feature can be split into segments and the segment feature can be merged into the simple feature. Please refer to Segment Feature for more information.
  3. Press “Save” to save the changes. Otherwise, press “Cancel”
