There are two ways to merge segments into a simple feature.
Method 1: In the feature list on the side panel, find the segment feature that you want to merge. Click the three vertical dots next to the feature, select “Merge all” from the dropdown. You will see that all segments are merged into one segment. Press “Save” to save the change.
Method 2: In the feature list on the side panel, find the segment feature that you want to merge. Click the three vertical dots next to the feature and select “Edit” from the dropdown to open the Editing feature window. Press the “Edit” button next to Segments to open the segment editing window. After selecting the segments that you want to merge (minimum 2 segments) by checking the box next to the segment number, the Merge function will be enabled. After pressing the merge button, selected segments will be merged into one segment. Press “Save” to save the change.
Note:
- Segments from opposite strands can’t be merged.
- The endpoints of the new segment are set by the smallest and the largest positions of merging segments.
- If all merging segments have default names, the new segment should have the default name.
- If merging segments have different names, the new segment will have the name of the first merging segment.
