Search for a Protein Sequence in Translation Features or ORFs

Search for a Protein Sequence in Translation Features

In order to search for protein sequence in translation, you need to select “Translation” from the search control first. After you enter an amino acid sequence in the search box, the sequence is searched in translation features on both strands and is case insensitive. If there are matches, the number of matches is shown next to the search box. You will be navigated to the location of the first search result and the corresponding part of the translation sequence is highlighted. You can navigate between search results by pressing the up or down arrow.

 

 

Search for a Protein Sequence in ORFs

If you want to search an amino acid sequence in Open Reading Frame (ORF), you need to turn on ORFs in the Display Setting, which will enable the ORFs option in search control. After you select “ORFs” from the search control and enter an amino acid sequence in the search box, the sequence is searched in ORFs on both strands and is case insensitive. If there are matches, the number of matches is shown next to the search box. You will be navigated to the location of the first search result and the corresponding part of the translation sequence is highlighted. You can navigate between search results by pressing the up or down arrow.
