Bulk Import Oligos into the Oligo Library
print icon

As with other BioDrive Libraries, a list of Oligos may be imported into the Oligo Library using a CSV file.  The first line of the CSV file should contain the oligo properties headers, each separated by a semicolon, while the row(s) below should contain property values of a particular oligo(s), with values also separated by semicolons (as shown in the CSV import example below).

Mandatory oligo properties required for import include the oligo’s Name and Sequence; these are outlined in blue in the CSV import file example below. The oligo’s Description is optional and will also be imported if included in the import file; this is outlined in orange in the CSV import file example below. Properties such as: Strand (direction), Dangling Tail, Tm, GC Content, Start Location, End Location are also optional, however will not be imported. An imported oligo’s Tm, GC content and length will be calculated, by the system, from the sequence upon import. An example of the import CSV file is shown below.

Once the CSV import file is prepared, complete the following steps:

  1. As previously described, the “Oligo Library” window can be accessed by clicking the wrench icon in the upper right corner of the BioDrive screen, then selecting “Oligo Library” from the dropdown menu to access the Oligo Library window.
  2. Once the import CSV file has been formatted, as described above, click the “Import” option in the top left corner of the Oligo Library popup window.

  1. In the newly opened “Import DNA oligos” window, click either “Choose file” to select your prepared CSV Import file, or drag and drop the file into the window.
    1. Names of Oligos successfully imported will be added to the list of Oligos on the left panel of the Oligo Library window.
    2. If an oligo already exists in the Library, the oligo will not be added and the following error message will appear.

    1. Please Note: Any issues detected by the system with the input file will prompt error message(s) to be displayed at the bottom of the window. In the case of any error detected within a CSV import file, only the faulty oligo record will be skipped while any oligo record without issues will be imported to the Oligo Library.
