BioDrive’s “Detect Oligos” feature allows a sequence to be searched for potential primer matches against your Oligo Library. If detected, oligos may then be added to a sequence as primers. BioDrive’s Search function is strand specific and searches the oligo’s sequence with an exact match approach while being case insensitive and nature insensitive.
- Select your sequence tab of interest, click “ACTIONS” then select “Detect Oligos” from the dropdown menu. If the Oligo Library does not contain any oligos, the “Detect Oligo” option will not be available in the dropdown menu.
- The system will search your Oligo Library for oligos matching your current sequence.
- If the current sequence does not contain any of the oligos' sequence from the Oligo Library, a notification stating “No Detected primers” will appear in the Primers panel (see below).
-
- If the current sequence contains some oligos' sequences from the library, you will be able to review the list of detected oligos. Clicking the down arrow next to each oligo will expand the oligo to show oligo properties: such as name, type, location in the sequence (start, end, strand), and other properties available in the library. All detected oligos are selected by default.
- If there is an oligo you don’t want to add to the current sequence, you can remove the checkmark in front of it. Pressing the “ADD” button will add all selected oligos to the annotation of the current sequence. These oligos are displayed on the scene and are added to the oligo list.
- When searching for oligos in RNA sequence, the system treats all “T” bases in the oligo sequence as “U”.
