At the field level, there are specific options to allow for registration group configuration. These options can be found when selecting “EDIT” next to the field in the Fields table. Some options are not available to specific data types, this will be noted below.
The options available:
- Configure Access: This option allows you to restrict access to this field to individuals and groups. This restriction will override the registration group setting. For example, if a user has view access to a registration group but not to a specific field then the user can view the request but the field itself will not display. Field-level permissions only restrict permissions previously provided; they cannot supply new permissions that have not already been granted.
- Required: This field must be supplied by a user to save a record. This option is automatically selected for any identity field(s).
- Allow Multiple values: This option allows a user to provide multiple inputs for the field. For example, if the data type is dropdown the user may select multiple dropdown options.
- This option is not allowed for the following data types:
- Rich Text
- BioDrive
- This option is not allowed for the following data types:
- Enforce uniqueness: This option forces uniqueness across all created entities within a registration group. The system will not allow a user to save with a duplicate value in this field.
- Add to Parent: This field will display at the parent creation level. At least 1 field must have this designation to save a configuration.
- Add to Child: This field will display when creating children's records. At least 1 field must have this selected if you have the Has Children option selected for the registration group.
- Display Parent Info in Child: This option should be used in conjunction with the Has Children and Add to Parent settings. This field will be entered at the Parent level and that value will display as view only in any child records created. This data can only be edited on the parent level but will update any/all children with the newly entered value.
- Is Identity: This field (in conjunction with any other field with this option) will determine how the system flags a registration record as a duplicate. This option will automatically select Required. This should be used with the Add to Parent option. The enforce uniqueness option is not recommended to be used with this option. If Has Children is selected the system will prompt a user to create a child when a duplicate is detected.
