To import inventory items, your inventory role must be Power User or above. If you don’t see this option, please contact your ELN administrator.

  1. Navigate to the location you want to import the inventory items. Use the “+” sign in front of the location to expand the inventory locations.

  1. Place the mouse over the desired location, right click the mouse and select “Import” from the list to open the bulk upload window.

  1. In the bulk upload window, pressing “Choose File” will open the file selection window. Select the file containing all the information you want to upload and press “Upload”. If you are uploading inventory for small molecule, you can use .sdf file. For all other types of objects, you can use excel file. The CSV format can’t be used in bulk import.

  1. After the file is uploaded, select the inventory object type from the drop-down list. After you make the selection, the system will display the mapping options for the object type you selected.

  1. Select how each column in your upload file will be mapped with the system field. If you have saved mapping template, it can be selected from “Choose Mapping Template” dropdown.

  1. After all the mapping fields are selected, you can save it as a mapping template by clicking “Save as New Mapping Template”. Type in a mapping template name. Checking the “Make Public” box will allow other users to use this template. Click “Save Mapping Template” to save it.

  1. After you press “Submit”, a window will show up to display the progress of importing records. When all records are processed, this window will be closed automatically.

  1. If there are errors processing recorders, the error message, which include the items that have errors and what error are, will be displayed as shown below. You can correct the error and start over the process.

  1. If there is no error and all recorders are imported, you will see a window as shown below. Now, you can go to the location where you import the inventory and check the results.
