Note: This feature can only be used by a User with the Admin role in the Arxspan System.
This process will move an experiment from one Notebook to another. It can be used to help organize experiments more effectively. There is a one-to-one relationship between Experiments and Notebooks, each experiment can be in only one Notebook.
- Transfer ownership of the notebook(s) that will receive the experiment to yourself. (Take a note of the current owner before transferring. You will transfer ownership back at the end of the process.) You can only move Experiments into Notebooks that you are the owner of.
- On the Notebook’s table of contents display, click on the pencil icon to the right of the Notebook’s owner’s name. A dropdown list will display the users that can own notebooks; select your name from this list. Select OK when prompted by the page.
- Move the Experiment into the Notebook.
- Navigate to the experiment that needs to be moved. Scroll to the bottom of the experiment page. Click on the Move button. From the dropdown list that displays, select the Notebook destination. Click on the Move button to complete the action. If the Move button is not visible, you may need to Save the Experiment.
-
- Note that if the experiment has been Signed and Closed or Witnessed, and the page is displaying the PDF view, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the page and select the Experiment View to see the Move button. The PDF for a Signed experiment is locked for editing. If a Signed experiment is moved to a different Notebook, the contents of the PDF will not reflect the change.
- Repeat the steps above for as many Notebooks and Experiments as needed.
- When complete, reassign the Notebooks back to their original owners.
- After returning ownership of a Notebook to the original owner, the Notebook page will prompt you to accept your new role in the notebook (Read Only). To accept this, click on the Accept button.
